Juventus escaped the new reduction in points on Tuesday but was fined more than 700,000 euros for salary maneuvers involving player contracts, after reaching an agreement with the Court of the Italian Football Federation.
‘Juve’ accepted the terms of the agreement offered and was left with the 10 points lost in the season that is now ending, and that left them out of the Champions League, within the scope of the Prisma investigation, which deals with the so-called ‘case of the most-earnings’ and these salary maneuvers.
Without the possibility of appeal, the decision implies 718,240 euros for the club and between 10,000 and 47,000 euros in pecuniary penalties for seven former leaders of the Turin shield, leaving the sentence on former president Andrea Agnelli missing.
These maneuvers were aimed at artificially reducing losses in the annual accounts during the Covid-19 pandemic, having announced the non-payment of several months of salaries to players who, privately, had agreed to receive this income in the following year, during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, when the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo represented the shield.
In Prisma, Juventus is also accused of having increased the market value of its players to obtain more benefits from their subsequent sale.
