This Saturday, FC Porto was crowned national handball champion for the 24th time, the fourth in a row, by beating Madeira SAD on the visit, 33-25, maintaining, on the 26th and last day, the one-point lead over Sporting .
The dragons, who were already leading at halftime by 18-15, after having been losing a large part of the first part, still had an advantage in the direct confrontation with the lions, who today prevailed in the Maia/UMaia field, by 32-23.
FC Porto has dominated the history of Nacional handball since 2018/19, adding four consecutive titles -in 2019/20 the championship did not come to an end due to the Covid-19 pandemic-, adding 11 wins in the last 14 editions completed .
The ‘blue and white’ formation concluded the championship with 75 points, the result of 24 victories and a single draw, away from Sporting, and a defeat against Águas Santas, in the first round.
