Benfica revalidated the title of national basketball champion this Sunday, winning again at Sporting’s stronghold, now 101-85, in the fourth game of the play-off final, which they won 3-1.
The ‘incarnated’, who at half-time were already leading 48-45, had triumphed in the first game, 85-84, against Luz, and in the third, by an expressive 101-57, against João Rocha, and, in the second, average, lost the second game at home, by 93-87.
The Luz team, which last season had sealed the scepter at the Dragão Arena, home of FC Porto, reinforced the leadership of the ranking of winners, now adding 29 titles, against 12 for the ‘dragons’ and nine for Sporting.
