While the lucky winners of the monetization of Twitter (now X) have barely received their first “payroll”, the social network has already reviewed the selection criteria to obtain money through their tweets.
So far, only Twitter Blue (renamed X Premium) subscribers who have generated 15 million impressions on their tweets in the last three months, or the number of views, could benefit from the remuneration. And only people who generated more than $50 in income – the calculation of the amount is yet to be determined – could hope to get their money back.
The social network has now lowered its criteria since now it is enough to have 5 million impressions on your tweets to be able to aspire to earn money tweeting. This figure was also the initial data that the Twitter site showed when the program was announced.
Towards a free subscription?
The minimum amount transferred by Twitter has also been lowered. If you reach the minimum threshold of 5 million impressions, you will receive… 10 euros. A way according to Elon Musk to refund your subscription to X Premium.
It is still necessary to manage to generate these 5 million visits. Because the billionaire, however, has issued a clarification that is very important: only the views of the accounts also subscribed to Twitter Blue will count. A way to “prevent scammers from using bots to spam endless views.” Except that Premium accounts represent, at best, 10% of the total number of users, which makes monetization much more difficult at this stage.
Therefore, the number of views displayed under each tweet cannot really be used as an indicator, as Twitter will ultimately only count the views generated by accounts subscribed to X Premium.
