The iPhone range presented by Apple this Tuesday at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino (California), includes four new units. Along with the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, we find, like last year, two basic models that are entitled to their new functions, but also prioritize some concessions regarding their older brothers to move forward. euros.

A recycled iPhone 14 Pro
In recent years, numbered iPhone models have taken the strengths of the previous year’s Pro versions. Still available in 6.1 or 6.7 inches, the iPhone 15 has no cuts and inherits many features from the iPhone 14 Pro. Starting with the appearance of Dynamic Island, the punch in the form of a dynamic interface for certain applications that also hides the camera TrueDepth facial recognition technology.
This has the merit of raising the level of the iPhone 15/15 Plus, which standardizes its appearance with its Pro neighbors (although it still does not have ProMotion, the 120 Hz adaptive screen refresh rate). In the hand, the device still feels good, with its slightly rounded aluminum edges. It feels soft between your fingers and quite fun with its spicy colors (pink, green, blue, yellow and black). They stand out especially for the reinforced glass back that extends to the frame of the matching photo module.
The latter moves up a category by stealing the 48 Mpx main sensor from the iPhone 14 Pro. It is associated with a 12 Mpx ultra wide angle that can benefit from a x2 zoom without having the presence of a dedicated telephoto lens.
A falling price
The iPhone 15 works well, undoubtedly thanks to the presence of the A16 Bionic chip, and not the A17 Pro chip left to the professionals. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are now also recharged via USB-C, Lightning having definitively said goodbye to the iPhone.
Great news (camera, USB-C, etc.), but ultimately no surprise effect for this smartphone which, however, should attract the youngest with its colors or the most demanding with a small budget by recycling the features of the latest iPhone 14 Pro of the year, but cheaper.
The good surprise undoubtedly comes from the price drop: the iPhone 15 starts at 969 euros for 128 GB, or 50 euros less than last year. The same goes for the iPhone 15 Plus, which is announced from 1,119 euros.
The iPhone 15 will go on sale on September 22 and pre-orders will begin on September 15.
