How to play “Snake” with your Spotify playlists?

The application enriches its song lists with an iconic game from the early 2000s. Using the “Snake” principle, Spotify invites you to devour the covers of the titles while listening.

As the end-of-year holidays approach, many are starting to put together playlists for their New Year’s Eve. Spotify users can do this while enjoying a breath of nostalgic air.

The streaming service’s application offers to transform song lists into a game of “Snake”, the famous snake that grows by swallowing seeds. Classic from the first Nokia models, it is possible to play while continuing to enjoy your playlist, Numerama highlighted.

Accessible in two clicks

Spotify still adapts the principle. Here, the snake gives way to an arrow. Each time each dust jacket is swallowed, it is placed behind the arrow. As then, the goal is to create the longest chain. The only thing missing is a score counter to feel like you’re in a real video game.

To access this feature, simply go to a playlist and click on the options (the logo represents three dots). At the bottom of the list that appears, you must select “Eat this playlist”.

The game starts and at the same time the playlist starts. Every time you eat a song, start a new track, until you eat it, and so on. In this way, the game is a perfect way to review the musical intros before the blinder classics of the New Year.

As specified by Numerama, the game only seems to be available in iOS applications. Owners of an Android phone are currently deprived of this. Additionally, Tech&Co noted that the game could only be accessed by people with a Spotify subscription.
