The new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, announced on Tuesday the launch of a subscription of eight dollars (eight euros) per month for users to certify their account and be less exposed to advertising.
The announcement of the American billionaire, also owner of Tesla and SpaceX, was made on Twitter, explaining that, in the future, this price will be adjusted by country, in proportion to purchasing power.
Twitter has been offering the opportunity to sign up for various paid features since last year, but the platform’s new owner wants a “new, more expensive and widely adopted offering” that will generate “more revenue.”
The version, called “Blue Twitter”, until now available in few countries and without great success, will have the advantages of priority in responses, mentions and searches, tools to combat ‘spam’, facility to publish long videos and audios and the half ad.
