“You can be both a brilliant businessman and an idiot.” In his latest book, Xavier Niel candidly discusses his views on Elon Musk, the boss of Tesla, SpaceX and X, in his new book. A real desire to make a mess (Flammarion). Asked on France Inter about the terms used against the businessman, Xavier Niel supported his statements.
“A form of morality”
He criticizes Elon Musk in particular for his comments, often described as scandalous, lying or hateful. Especially since Elon Musk’s political involvement at the end of summer to officially support Donald Trump in the American presidential elections.
“I believe in a form of morality. When you do stupid things, you always end up paying for them,” adds Xavier Niel. “What you can say can have an impact on your business,” he believes, referring to the drop in the value of X since its acquisition by Elon Musk and the flight of advertisers.
Unlike Elon Musk, Xavier Niel says he doesn’t want to get involved in politics because he believes it’s “not his job.” However, with one exception: the French boss spoke of his “dream” of one day running for mayor of Paris.
