The Z generation no longer responds. If, when you call your friend in his twenty years, he does not collect, this is normal: it can be one of the 23% of young adults who no longer answer the phone.
Questioned by BFMTV, the first in question has several explanations: “What can be heavy is when it is done unexpectedly,” explains one. “I think we just lost the habit, now we are quickly, you have to go fast,” adds another.
“We can no longer bear the silences”
For Joseph Agostini, clinical and psychoanalyst psychologist, this figure, of a study conducted by USWitch in April 2024, is not surprising: “We can no longer support the silences, we are intolerant to all forms of frustration. Look at the tutorials on YouTube: the silences are blurred. We must always go faster,” he explains in BFMTV.
The specialist also emphasizes that the generalization of voice messages, for example, in WhatsApp, and the characteristics that allow them to eliminate from a conversation, leave no room for errors or unexpected: “There is no longer any living rectification. We are always closer than we want, with more clarity and synthesis.”
But the reverse of the medal is that we lose in “humanity”, is alarmed Joseph Agostini.
However, it should be added that the situation of unwanted calls has worsened over time, especially due to the multiplication of demarchages or scams.
Over the years, the legislator has hardened the rules of the game to prevent unwanted calls from becoming a task and a “fear” to win. The rules of the game that once again could restore the flavor to the phone, since it was originally designed, for calls, with a recent law approved to prohibit development without express authorization of the consumer.
