To compete with Tiktok and YouTube, Dailymotion Buy the Mojo application

When buying this application of video creations through AI, Dailymotion hopes to strengthen its position as a “European reference alternative in the online video field” against Chinese and American competitors.

Dailymotion announced on Thursday the acquisition of Mojo, application of the creation of videos through artificial intelligence (AI), to become “a European social network” and try to compete with its YouTube and Tiktok competitors.

With this operation, whose quantity has not been revealed, the French platform wants to strengthen its position as a “European reference alternative in the online video field” against US and Chinese giants, according to a press release.

Mojo, edited by the arc shooting company, allows you to produce videos with functions of automatic subtitulation or videos from images or text. It has more than 300,000 subscribers they pay.

A platform that does not make the weight against Tiktok and YouTube

Dailymotion, a channel+subsidiary, will integrate these new features in its offer for customers and advertisers “professionals,” he said.

Created in 2005, one month after YouTube, by the Frenchman Benjamin Bejbaum and Olivier Poitrey, Dailymotion made, at the beginning, a tricolor standard, a pioneer in the exchange of videos. But, quickly, the weight against the American competitor, bought by Google in 2006.

The platform, which has not yet reached profitability, claims 400 million active users per month, far from the 2.5 billion monthly YouTube users or more than 1.7 billion Tiktok.
