A very bad surprise for those who were eager to enjoy the new Nintendo console. While many people around the world have queued for hours in the middle of the night to recover their change on June 2, some were not happy after opening the box once at home.
As Ign reports, they met a console whose screen was perforated by Staples. The fault of a Gamestop store in which they recovered it, with the employees who rapted the receipt at the front of the console box.
As many shared images are shown on social networks, it is a Gamestop store in Staten Island, which seems to have gathered a large part of its Switch 2 stock for nightly release.
“Gamestop has entered the Switch 2 of my friends and I in the box,” wrote one of the clients worried about X, accompanying his message with several photos. “Really crazy, now I’m going to have to wait three months to replenish,” he complained.
“The launch of Midnight went wrong,” said another in Reddit. “It seems that everyone has suffered the same in their box. More than 100 people were present tonight,” he added.
Lack of protection
If the staples have drilled the switch screen 2 many people, it is because the packaging of the console consists of a plastic fragile envelope and a thin cardboard box. And not only, the screen is at the front of the box, but is also out.
Therefore, several clients have criticized Nintendo for not having better protected the key part of their console. “I knew what would happen: it was a strange decision by Nintendo to place the screen outside on the front of the box with only the fine box to protect it,” said one of them in X.
Faced with his complaints, Gamestop reacted confirming that the problem only referred to a store. “Replacements have been proposed. The stapators have been confiscated,” the company wrote in X.
One of the worried customers, who claims to have talked to the store manager, provided some details about Reddit. “The reason they used a stapler was that the air conditioner was down (which was the case), which was hot and wet in the store,” he said.
