New part in the battle between arc and pornographic sites. This Monday, August 4, the regulator announced in a press release in a notice of five pornographic sites established in the European Union. The sites in question are: Xhamster, Xvideos, Xnxx, Xhamsterlive and Tnaflix.
The authority declares that it will decide and block the sites that will not comply with the verification restrictions of the new age, “within three weeks.”
Age verification disputed by sites
This blockade is the consequence of a new law that explicitly requires pornographic sites to establish an “efficient” age verification device. A means for the French government to limit the exposure of minors to inappropriate content for its age.
However, this measure caused the outrage of the impacted sites. Beyond the implementation of this system, several sites denounce the danger behind the implementation of the age verification software.
This is particularly the case of the Aylo Group (YouPorn, Pornhub and Redtube) that said that “providing sensitive personal information, repeatedly creates an incompatible security risk that we refuse to impose on our users.”
