It was a long-standing request from Instagram users and one that TikTok has also been considering for several months. Since its inception, the social network has never offered its users the ability to share other people’s content by reposting it on their own profile. However, the subsidiary of the Meta group confirmed to TechCrunch, this September 8, to consider this possibility by integrating a dedicated functionality currently in the experimental phase.
That is matthew navarra, a social media consultant, who first saw the feature. He has also posted a screenshot that actually shows what a tab affiliated with this task looks like.
According to the screenshot, the “Reshare” tab will appear in the user’s profile next to the ones dedicated to posts and Reels. Currently, there is no direct way to repost another user’s post on Instagram. Those who wish to do so will need to use third-party applications. Adding a sharing option would eliminate these solutions.
