IVAucher, the war in Ukraine, the soccer world cup and even Coldplay. These were some of the most searched terms on Google this year. According to the complete list to which TSF had access, the Portuguese are also concerned about their health.
The expression “Dr. Google” is reinforced in 2022. This year, one of the most frequently asked questions to the search engine was: “What is a vasectomy?”. But if children, or the impossibility of having them, filled the minds of the Portuguese, death was also on our minds. An ecological death, because instead of cremation, the Portuguese asked Google “what is an aquamation?”
The war in Ukraine could not bypass these questions and at the top of the questions remains “what is NATO?” and “what is an oligarch?”
However, we do not always go to Google to ask what it is, there were times when we went to ask how: how to register in Autobono, how IVAucher works, how to collect the 125 euros, how to register in the regulated market and how help Ukraine.
Sometimes it’s not really a question we have to ask and we just want to know more. Then terms like Wordle, Russia, Ukraine, World Cup 2022 and digital certificate were in the Top 10. The same happened with climate change and, as it should be, the most sought-after concert in recent times was: Coldplay, in Coimbra.
