Apple on Tuesday announced two next-generation chips for its MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. Called M2 Pro and M2 Max, they promise “revolutionary performance”, according to the American group.

In its press release, Apple presents the M2 Pro as a clear improvement over its little sister M1 Pro. The chip integrates 40 billion transistors, “almost 20% more than the M1 Pro chip and twice as many as the M2 chip” . In practice, it enables image processing in Adobe Photoshop 40% faster than with the M1 Pro chip.
For its part, the M2 Max promises “unmatched power and energy efficiency in the business laptop market.”
New MacBook Pro and new Mac mini
Apple took the opportunity to announce new products in the process: two MacBook Pros with each chip (M2 Pro and M2 Max), as well as two Mac minis with an M2 chip and another with an M2 Pro chip.
As for the Mac mini, three new models are already available: the first two are equipped with the M2 chip with 256 GB of storage (699 euros) or 512 GB of storage (929 euros). All three models are equipped with the M2 Pro chip and 512 GB of storage (1549 euros).
