Apple presented, on Wednesday, September 7, the latest version of its famous range of smartphones: iPhone 14 and its different iterations. From the iPhone SE to the iPhone 13 mini to the iPhone 12 Pro, the Apple brand has been offering a wide range of models available in different price segments for several years.
iPhone SE: reduced power
This model is the ideal compromise for people who want to purchase an iPhone at the most affordable price. Available from 559 euros on the official Apple website, this smartphone has the powerful A15 Bionic processor, just like in iPhone 13giving it a high level of performance for a smooth experience suitable for all everyday uses.
Compatible with 5G and equipped with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, the iPhone SE will appeal to lovers of compact devices with its 4.7-inch screen. A reduced format that, although it makes the iPhone SE 5G easily accessible for small hands, it is not always optimal in terms of readability.
On the concession side, note, for lovers of sleek lines, its rather dated design, inherited from the iPhone 6 released in 2014, its limited abilities in the field of photography, especially at night. Otherwise, it’s hard to find better value for money in the recent smartphone market.
iPhone 11: good value for money
Available from 589 euros, the iPhone 11 is now one of Apple’s entry-level smartphones. However, it is more expensive than the new iPhone SE (529 euros) which has the advantage of benefiting from more recent components. On the other hand, it has a larger screen size (6.1 inches) ideal for multimedia use.
For the rest, the device shows technical characteristics almost similar to those of the iPhone 12 except for certain details. In addition, its purchase mainly refers to people who are not necessarily looking to have the latest version of the iPhone, but who want a very good quality phone without necessarily having to pay the price. And above all with quite pop colors (green, blue, yellow, mauve, red…).
iPhone 12 Pro: Like an iPhone 13 Pro Air
If the iPhone 12 Pro has officially disappeared from Apple’s catalog, it is still available from most retailers. The main advantage of this high-end smartphone: its price, a not insignificant detail. For less than the iPhone 13 Pro, the 12 Pro offers excellent performance in terms of photos, power, and battery life compared to its successor.
Design first: Equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED screen, for optimal visual comfort, the iPhone 12 Pro is visually almost identical to its older brother. Its A14 Bionic processor provides you with a most satisfactory fluidity in addition to support for 5G. Its three 12 megapixel sensors (wide angle, ultra wide angle and telephoto) guarantee quality photos thanks also to the presence of the LiDAR distance sensor, very useful especially at night and for portraits. Add to that some pretty good battery life and you have a great alternative in Apple’s premium smartphone segment.
iPhone 13 mini: the small one that has everything in a big way
Only in its category. The iPhone 13 mini is the only representative of premium and compact smartphones, a segment that has been largely neglected by the competition. 147 grams, 5.7-inch screen under arm: its modest size makes it easy to handle. However, these dimensions may discourage users accustomed to larger screens that are more comfortable for viewing multimedia content, particularly video games or videos. It also has practically the same dimensions as the iPhone SE, more modernity.
Under the hood, apart from a slightly shorter battery life, there are few differences between the iPhone 13 mini and the iPhone 13. The device incorporates similar technologies, from the A15 Bionic chip, which enables 5G compatibility, to the camera with two 12- megapixel sensors and functionality FaceID facial recognitionwithout the TrueDepth camera on the front.
Sold from 809 euros, it is the cheapest phone in the iPhone 13 range. For this reason, this frame is a reference for those looking for a smartphone equipped with the latest advanced technologies embedded in a small format.
iPhone 14 Pro: excellence in photography
With the iPhone 14 Pro, the company led by Tim Cook introduces a new user interface: Dynamic Island. Overlapping the front camera now at the top of the screen, which removes the notch, this animated dynamic menu bar relays information from certain applications (Maps, Music, Timer, etc.). A unique feature that is both practical and ergonomic.
With a 6.1-inch screen and powered by the A16 Bionic, a new processor, the smartphone guarantees a battery life of more than a day. The American electronics giant has also incorporated a mode always on Highly demanded by telephone users that maintains a visible display with the main information, but on standby to save battery.
Finally, the device has a new 48-megapixel photo sensor, for even more detailed and brilliant shots. The iPhone 14 Pro, the top of the range, is mainly intended for an informed public attentive to the latest technological trends. In addition, its price, 1,329 euros, is not within the reach of all pockets.
