Do you want to know more about a monument behind a photo? Did you find something similar to a celebrity that you have filmed? This will soon be possible thanks to Google and its image recognition program, used according to the company more than 10 billion times a month.
The tool already allows you to translate text in real time from an image, solve mathematical problems or identify plants and animals. But this update will allow you to skip the step of pre-recording the photo or video. Now Google Lens will work directly with what’s on the screen.
No business interruption
Initially, the feature will only be available for Android devices. All the user has to do is click on the “Search from your screen” feature which will start searching for whatever is displayed on the screen, whether it be a website, instant messaging service or video application. .
Google gives the example of a photo sent by a friend through an email service. The recipient equipped with an Android smartphone will only need to long press the home or home button on the device to activate the search from the screen. Google Lens will thus be able to detect places or monuments in the background.
