Like any big online platform, Netflix is often the victim of identity theft. By email or SMS, hackers compete every time in originality (or almost) to try to recover phone numbers, email addresses or bank details of users.
In recent days, some Internet users have received emails from “Netflix Surveys”, which invite them to give their opinion on the movies and series in the catalog. The subject line of the email seems reassuring at first: “Netflix welcomes your feedback,” a title that doesn’t appear to be phishing at first glance.
Never request by SMS
Netflix has thus wanted to warn its users about this new scam method, adding it to a thread of tweets on the subject.
The streaming platform reminds that it does not ask at any time to enter personal data (email, telephone number, credit card number) through email or SMS.
You also cannot request any payment through a third party site. Netflix has also set up a special email address, [email protected], to forward unwanted requests so they can be analyzed and stopped.
