SpaceX spacecraft launch canceled due to technical issues

A technical problem forced the American company SpaceX to cancel the launch of a spacecraft that was preparing to transport four astronauts to the NASA International Space Station.

The mission was suspended two minutes before the scheduled launch time, at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, United States, and the company reported that “there was no time to address the problem related to the engine ignition system.”

So far, the private company SpaceX has not yet provided any details on the date of the new launch.

Inside the Falcon, the astronauts – two Americans, one Russian and one from the United Arab Emirates – had to wait inside for about an hour until the fuel was completely removed from the engines.

The mission of this team is to replace the four astronauts who have been at the NASA International Station since last October.

According to the Associated Press, citing SpaceX officials, the cancellation may be due to a “problem” related to the ground equipment used to charge the engine’s ignition fluid.

A SpaceX engineer compared “the critical system to a car’s spark plug system.”
