Apple will launch a new iMac equipped with its future M3 chip

Apple aims to market, starting in the second half of 2023, new computers that include a new iteration of the iMac equipped with the future M3 chip.

The year promises to be a busy one for Apple. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman’s newsletter, the Apple brand intends to market a barrage of new computers in 2023, including a 24-inch iMac model equipped with the future M3 chip, an unprecedented component manufactured in 3nm.

This new iMac shouldn’t go into mass production before late spring, Mark Gurman stresses. However, it could start shipping in the second half of this year in the same colors as the previous 2021 version equipped with an M1 chip, including blue, silver, pink and orange.

In fact, the device is in “an advanced stage of development,” says the Bloomberg journalist. Apple is “currently running production tests on the machine,” he continues.

Three other Macs in development

Announced and released in 2021, the M1 chip-powered 24-inch iMac is the latest computer in this line to see the light of day. But Apple hasn’t updated it in two years, with the 2021 model being the first to run on the company’s own silicon, as well as a larger screen and a variety of new colors. By incorporating an M3 chip, the new 24-inch iMac will represent a major generational upgrade, as the existing version runs on an M1 chip.

In addition to a new iMac, Mark Gurman says Apple is also preparing to launch the new 15-inch MacBook Air, an improved version of the 13-inch MacBook Air that could include the M3 chip, and a MacBook Pro with an M2 Ultra chip. . Furthermore, the tech giant is expected to unveil its new M3 chip at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
