The ChatGPT conversational chatbot will soon be able to reply to your colleagues in Slack. Salesforce, owner of the business messaging app, announced a partnership with OpenAI, which develops ChatGPT.
This new feature will be able to “provide instant conversation summaries, topic-based search tools, and assistance with writing messages directly in Slack,” Salesforce explains in a March 7 blog post.
The stated goal: to enable Slack users, who are primarily businesses and professionals, to find “more quickly the information they need to work better” and “increase productivity.”
OpenAI seeks beta testers
This feature is currently under development. On the OpenAI site, it is still possible to register to be selected among the beta testers. The startup announced last week the opening of an API (for programming interface), which will allow developers to integrate the famous ChatGPT into their applications.
The app is built “on the trusted Slack platform and will be available alongside more than 2,600 other app ecosystem features,” Salesforce said. And to continue: “Customers have a granularity of controls to securely manage third-party access to Slack data.”
The IT giant also states that “the data the application is allowed to access will not be used to train the ChatGPT language model.”
