All techniques are good to attract users to the payment model. Elon Musk announced on his Twitter account on April 14 that “from time to time” he would host “a reserved Q&A session for subscribers.”
So he gets involved himself to give users a good reason to pay eight dollars a month (and ten euros in France). He also says this may take the form of chats in Spaces, Twitter’s live audio chat feature.
Elon Musk had already been singled out for having entered a discussion space in which American journalists were discussing the suspension of the @ElonJet account, which followed the movements of his private plane.
Make up for Twitter losses
The head of Twitter has no choice but to bet on an increase in subscriptions, as the social network’s advertising revenue is expected to fall this year by almost a third, according to Insider Intelligence forecasts. Twitter would obtain less than 3,000 million dollars of billing in 2023, compared to 4,140 million in 2022. A drop of 28%.
On April 14, the social network indicated that Twitter Blue accounts now have the ability to post texts of 10,000 characters, a way to promote the monetization of activity on Twitter.
“Twitter must succeed in separating the perception of Musk and his personal image from that of the company to win back their trust and bring them back,” analyst Jasmine Enberg said in the Insider Intelligence report. The Twitter kingpin, therefore, seems far from wanting to disassociate himself from the social network.
