The Senate investigation commission on TikTok will hear from two leaders of the Chinese social network, ultra-popular among young people, next Thursday, it announced this Friday.
The commission of inquiry will hear Thursday morning from Eric Garandeau, director of public affairs for TikTok SAS. Then, in the afternoon, Marlène Masure, General Manager of French, Benelux and Southern European Operations at TikTok SAS.
These hearings will be open to the press. In the case of a parliamentary commission of inquiry, the persons summoned are heard under oath.
The minister interviewed
The commission is also scheduled to hear the Minister in charge of Digital Transition and Telecommunications, Jean-Noël Barrot, on June 19.
Created at the request of the Les Indépendants group, the senate commission of inquiry into the use of the social network, its “data exploitation” and its “influence strategy”, should present its conclusions before Parliament’s summer break.
