“Large-scale Russian military aggression began.” Ukraine says it shot down 32 drones

The Ukrainian Armed Forces said Tuesday they shot down more than 30 unmanned aerial devices (drones) launched by Russia overnight, accusing Moscow of “large-scale” aggression.

“Large-scale Russian military aggression has begun,” read a statement from the Ukrainian Armed Forces posted on the Facebook digital platform.

The document specifies that “the enemy [Rússia] carried out more than 45 airstrikes and 70 self-propelled rocket launches from MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System)” against Ukrainian positions.

On the other hand, according to kyiv, in the last 24 hours there have been “45 clashes” with the main Russian efforts concentrated in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka areas.

According to the same note, at these points there were “intense fighting.”

Ukrainian aviation carried out 15 airstrikes against concentrations of Russian forces.

Subsequently, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army indicated that the “enemy attacked Ukrainian military installations and infrastructures” using Iranian-made war materiel.

“The launches were made from the Azov Sea. In total, the invaders used 35 drones, 32 of which were destroyed by anti-aircraft defense systems”, indicates the note from the Ukrainian General Staff.

Ukrainian forces also say 1,010 Russian fighters have been killed in the past 24 hours, bringing to “221,460” the total number of deaths suffered by Russia since the start of the invasion in February last year.

Data provided by kyiv on Russian attacks and casualties has yet to be independently verified.
