Russia accuses Ukraine of attempted ‘terrorist act’ against Moscow airport

Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday it had prevented a “terrorist act” by Ukraine after several drones forced a grounding of flights at Vnukovo airport outside Moscow.

Ukraine’s president “is committing these terrorist acts using weapons shipped from the West or purchased with Western funds, this is international terrorism,” Zakharova said.

“The international community must realize that the United States, the United Kingdom and France, permanent members of the UN Security Council, are financing a terrorist regime,” he added.

The presence of drones [veículos aéreos não tripulados] briefly disrupted the operation of Vnukovo airport and forced the redirection of several flights to other airports, the Russian Air Transport Agency said.

As of 07:00 (05:00 Lisbon time), all restrictions were lifted at Vnukovo airport, which “resumed activity,” the agency said in a statement.
