Russian fighter jet crashes during training flight in eastern Russia

A supersonic MiG-31 aircraft of the Russian Air Force crashed during a training flight on the Kamchatka Peninsula, east of the country, the Russian Defense Ministry reported today.

Authorities indicated that the accident occurred during maneuvers over the Gulf of Avachinsky, which was also confirmed by the Russian Pacific Fleet.

“On July 4, a MiG-31 fighter crashed while conducting a planned training flight in the Kamchatka region”in turn, pointed to the Russian Armed Forces, which did not provide any information about the condition of the pilot.

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated that two Russian strategic bombers Tu-95MS were conducting a routine patrol over the international waters of the Bering Sea, close to the coasts of Alaska.

‘The flight took more than 13 hours’needed.

During the mission, the two bombers were escorted by Su-30M and Su-35C fighters of the Eastern Military District Air Grouping.

“All strategic aircraft flights are conducted in strict accordance with international standards for the use of airspace over neutral waters, without violating the borders of other states”emphasized the Ministry of Defense.

The Tu-95, which can carry nuclear missiles, is an aircraft capable of speeds of up to 925 kilometers per hour.
