Kiev on Wednesday claimed to have destroyed an ammunition depot in Makiivka, in the eastern part of Donetsk, while Russia said the attack hit civilian targets.
Russian-mandated authorities in the region said 68 civilians were injured in Tuesday’s attack, including three children.
The same source also pointed to one death in the attack and the city’s Russian-appointed mayor, Vladislav Kliucharov, reported damage to fences in 40 homes.
None of the information can be immediately confirmed by an independent source.
Videos shared on social networks by pro-Ukrainian sources show a succession of explosions at an ammunition warehouse, reportedly on Tuesday night in Makiivka, and others in the same area already during the day of this Wednesday, leaving craters, some of which you may not see -exploded ordnance.
The Russian military offensive on Ukrainian territory, launched on February 24 last year, plunged Europe into what is considered the most serious security crisis since World War II (1939-1945).
