Russian anti-aircraft defenses shot down a Ukrainian missile on Sunday in the Russian region of Rostov, on the border with Ukraine, said the governor of that province, Vasily Golubev.
“At approximately 12:00 p.m. today (9:00 a.m. in Lisbon), our air defense system worked quickly. A Ukrainian missile was shot down in the area between Kamensk and Donetsk,” Goluven wrote on the Telegram social network.
The governor of the Rostov province also indicated that there were no casualties, but that shrapnel partially damaged the roofs of several buildings.
The head of the Donetsk city administration, Roman Kuraev, said in an audio posted on Telegram that the damage was “insignificant.”
The city of Donetsk in Rostov borders the Lugansk region in the east of the country.
