Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was released from the hospital on Sunday after being admitted to the hospital on Saturday with dehydration, his office said.
The 73-year-old prime minister was rushed to Sheba Hospital, Israel’s largest hospital near Tel Aviv, on Saturday.
“Our diagnosis, after carrying out a series of tests, including laboratory tests, is that the reason for admission was dehydration,” Amit Segev, head of the hospital’s cardiology department, said in a video released by his service, quoted by the Agency France. -Press (AFP).
“His heart is completely normal (…), no arrhythmia was detected (…), we decided to place a subcutaneous Holter to continue monitoring,” added the doctor.
Netanyahu was vacationing with his family at Lake Kineret in northern Israel when a heat wave hit the entire country.
In a video recording released after his hospitalization, Netanyahu said he spent time at the lake with his wife, “in the sun, without a hat and without water.”
“It was not a good idea,” the prime minister added, noting that he felt “very good.”
Netanyahu recommended that Israelis “spend less time in the sun” and “drink more water” due to the strong heat felt in the country.
In October, he was hospitalized overnight after feeling unwell while fasting Yom Kippur, the holiest holiday on the religious calendar.
Benjamin Netanyahu, who won the November 2022 elections, along with his allies from the ultra-Orthodox and far-right parties, is fighting internally against the implacable opposition to the judicial reform project that his government defends.
Among others, the prime minister is accused of corruption in several cases.
Netanyahu refutes the accusations against him and considers himself the victim of a witch hunt.
