Crimean Bridge: Vladimir Putin denounces a “terrorist act” and calls for greater security

After the attack on the bridge linking the annexed Crimea with his country, the Russian president called for “concrete proposals” to improve security during a government meeting.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked to strengthen security measures at the Crimean bridge, a strategic infrastructure damaged overnight from Sunday to Monday by a Ukrainian attack that he denounced as a “terrorist act.”

“Since this is the second terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, I look forward to concrete proposals to improve the security of this important and strategic transport infrastructure,” the leader told a televised government meeting. In October 2022, an explosion had already damaged the building.
