At least nine people are still missing on Thursday after the explosion that took place on Wednesday at a factory near Moscow, which killed one, the Russian commission of inquiry announced.

In a statement published on the Telegram platform, the regional branch of the Commission of Inquiry indicates that 60 people have received medical attention, nine are missing and a woman has died in hospital.
Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry had told AFP news agency minutes earlier that 12 people were still missing and searches continued.
The explosion took place in a pyrotechnic warehouse in the town of Sergiev Posad, located in the Moscow region, 75 kilometers northeast of the Russian capital, according to the Russian agency TASS.
According to information from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations on the Telegram platform, about 400 people are involved in the searches.
Professionals investigating the explosion are searching the Piro-Ross company, because a fire broke out in the warehouse, the Russian commission of inquiry said.

“Thirty-four people were questioned as witnesses” and the company’s technical director was detained as a suspect, the investigative body added.
According to initial information, the accident occurred in a pyrotechnic warehouse at the Zagorsk Optical Mechanics Plant, and probably as a result of non-compliance with safety regulations.
At the same time, the management of the Zagorsk plant released a statement, reporting that “the incident took place in a warehouse of a private company.”
