The Taliban regime celebrates two years since Western forces abandoned the Afghan capital, and therefore this Tuesday is a holiday in the country.
“The conquest of Kabul once again demonstrated that no one can control the proud nation of Afghanistan and guarantee its permanence in the country,” read a statement released by the Taliban regime, quoted by AFP.
“No invader will be allowed to threaten the independence and freedom of Afghanistan,” he added.
In August 2021, the former Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was replaced by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, but despite the party, it is not recognized by any country in the world.
Since then, strict policies have been adopted that violate human rights, especially women’s rights, maintaining, for example, access to education. The UN has already denounced the situation and described it as “gender apartheid”.
On Monday, Amnesty International (AI) accused the Taliban of turning the emancipation hopes of women in Afghanistan into a “storm of draconian restrictions” since they returned to power.
“Afghanistan has once again plunged into a dark chapter,” the organization considered in a text released on the occasion of the second anniversary of the new Afghan regime.
