The annual inflation rate in the United Kingdom was 6.8% in July this year, compared to 7.9% observed the previous month, the British National Statistics Office (ONS) announced on Wednesday.
According to the ONS, the annual inflation rate in July this year was at the lowest level since February 2022.
In the seventh month of this year, the year-on-year increase in UK food and non-alcoholic beverage prices was 14.8%, up from 17.3% in June.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile energy, food, alcohol and tobacco prices, was unchanged at 6.9% in July, contrary to the decline forecast by analysts.
In monthly terms, July prices fell 0.4%, compared to a 0.6% increase in the same month of 2022.
