Gaston Ocampo is the new general secretary of IPDAL

Gastón Ocampo arrives in Lisbon from Washington, DC, where he worked in the office of the President of the Inter-American Dialogue, one of the most important think tanks in the world dedicated to the study of Latin America”, reads the statement in which the Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL) announces the name of its new general secretary.

Ocampo is an Argentinian national and was born in Buenos Aires and attended Roanoke College in Virginia, United States, where he majored in International Relations and Business Management.

“Gaston Ocampo is a great addition to the IPDAL team and project. We will be increasing the number of international partner institutions in the near future. We are increasingly collaborating politically/diplomatically and economically with the countries of America Latin America and also with African countries, always placing Portugal as the most important center of this Latin America-Europe-Africa strategic triangle,” explains Paulo Neves, President of IPDAL.

Ocampo, age 28, was already a member of the IPDAL Advisory Board and was the first director of the IPDAL Academy. He replaces Filipe Domingues as Secretary General, who remains responsible for the Institute.
