kyiv plans to mobilize up to 700,000 Russians due to war casualties

The General Staff of the Ukrainian army stated this Monday that Russia is preparing a new forced mobilization of between 400,000 and 700,000 recruits, including 40,000 Chechens, due to the “catastrophic” losses of the war.

“Due to the catastrophic losses of the occupiers, a massive forced mobilization is expected to begin soon,” the Kiev General Staff said in the daily military report.

The note adds that the mobilization will take place both in Russia and in the territories occupied by the country in Ukraine.

According to the source, the 40,000 Chechens will be used as “barrier units”, placed behind the troops and whose mission will be to shoot at those who do not comply with orders to attack the enemy.

“At the same time, the planned number of mobilized people among the populations of Moscow and Saint Petersburg remains minimal,” stated the Ukrainian General Staff, explaining that this recruitment is mainly aimed at the Russian regions furthest from the centers of power.

“Ordinary citizens residing in the Russian regions will once again be sent to the front as cannon fodder and pushed to death by Kadyrov’s executioners,” the report adds, referring to the Chechen leader loyal to the Kremlin.

The note further stated that “virtually the only way for the Russian military to survive is to voluntarily surrender to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”
