NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg traveled to kyiv on Thursday for an unannounced visit and discussed the needs of Ukrainian forces with President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrinform agency reported.
“I am sure that we can continue to put pressure on the aggressor so that Russia only retreats and loses,” Zelensky said in a joint press conference with Stoltenberg, quoted by the Ukrainian agency.
Stoltenberg’s visit comes at a time when Ukrainian forces are carrying out an offensive against Russian troops in southern and eastern Ukraine.
“I am glad that we had a meaningful conversation,” the president of Ukraine also stated, according to the French agency AFP.
