The German government will deliver winter equipment to the Ukrainian troops worth 11 million euros, reports this Sunday the German weekly ‘Spiegel’, which points out that the response to the request for help came from kyiv.
The package includes 100,000 warm inner coats and other winter clothing, as well as heated mass tents, hundreds of mobile power generators, and “bulk” food parcels, the publication said.
The Ukrainian Defense Minister, Oleksii Reznikov, had requested, at the end of the summer and through the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the donation and winter equipment for the troops.
In a letter to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the Ukrainian government official said the uniforms for the 200,000 soldiers were “urgently needed.”
The Spanish news agency EFE reports that, on that date, several other countries communicated to the alliance headquarters their intention to prepare winter packages similar to those of Germany.
