The Portuguese Embassy in Moscow is overseeing the transfer process to Portugal of two women who died in a traffic accident in Tajikistan in September, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MNE) said on Wednesday.
In a note, the MNE assures that the transport process to Portugal is being followed for two other tourists hospitalized in that country, following the traffic accident that occurred on September 19 in northern Tajikistan with a group of 22 Portuguese tourists.
The MNE states that the two hospitalized Portuguese citizens are stable and that “they will be transferred to Portugal as soon as their health allows” and states that it has maintained contact with the families of all victims and “provided the necessary consular support “.
The accident involving a bus with twenty Portuguese citizens on board in northern Tajikistan (a country in Central Asia that was part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics – USSR until 1991), on the road between Ayni and Penjikent.
News of the accident was not known until Wednesday.
