Spanish authorities rescued 259 immigrants off the Canary Islands

In the last few hours, the Spanish authorities have rescued 259 migrants off the Canary Islands and have located more boats, which they estimate have about two hundred people on board.

In front of Punta Rasca (El Hierro), 82 men of sub-Saharan origin arrived at 11:35 p.m. on Thursday, accompanied by 17 minors.

During the early hours of Friday, the Spanish authorities detected another boat sailing about nine kilometers from Gran Canaria with 74 people on board who were transferred to Arquinequin.

At 3:11 a.m., Maritime Rescue teams located three kilometers from La Restinga another boat in which 103 citizens of sub-Saharan origin were traveling: 93 men, seven women and three minors.

According to the Spanish agency Efe, at this time the ships of the Maritime Rescue service, Adhara and Alpheraz, are still trying to confirm the presence of two precarious vessels, which according to information not yet confirmed are transporting about 200 people. .
