Hamas says Biden’s visit will encourage ‘more massacres against Palestinians’

The spokesman for the Islamist movement Hamas, Hazem Qassem, stated this Tuesday that the visit of the president of the United States to Israel on Wednesday will serve as an incentive for “more massacres against the Palestinians.”

In a telephone interview with CNN television, Qassem criticized the US Administration for its “aggressive” stance against the Palestinians and for accepting “Israeli rhetoric.”

“Unfortunately, the United States Administration and the President [Joe] Biden took a very aggressive stance against the Palestinian people and fell into the Israeli narrative. “His visit only serves to financially and morally support the Israelis, encourage the occupation and carry out more massacres against our Palestinian brothers, children and elderly,” the Hamas spokesman said.

Qassem also claimed that at least “two-thirds” of the victims of today’s Israeli bombings are women and children who fled from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip.

Biden is scheduled to travel this Wednesday, accepting the invitation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and following the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Israel.

Later, the president of the United States will travel to the capital of Jordan, Amman, where he will meet with Jordanian King Abdullah II, the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, and the leader of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas. .
