Inflation slows in September to 4.3% in the euro zone and 4.9% in the EU

The annual inflation rate of the euro zone slowed in September to 4.3% and that of the European Union to 4.9%, compared to 5.2% and 5.9% in August, announced this Wednesday Eurostat.

In September 2022, countries with a single currency had recorded inflation of 9.9% and, in the 27 Member States as a whole, 10.9%.

Core inflation in the euro area – which excludes the most volatile aggregates such as energy, food, alcohol and tobacco – stood at 4.5% in September, compared with a rate of 5.3%. % of August.
