Six airports in France evacuated due to “attack threats”

The airports of Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Nice, Toulouse and Beauvais, in France, were evacuated this Wednesday due to bomb threats.

The “attack threats” were sent by email, reveals a police source cited by AFP. All passengers were removed preventively so that authorities could evaluate whether the threat was real.

The Louvre Museum and the Palace of Versailles were also evacuated last weekend following bomb threats.

This after the terrorist alert was raised in France, following the attack last Friday, in which a teacher died and three people were injured at the Arras secondary school, perpetrated by a radicalized 20-year-old Russian-Chechen former student.

President Macron called the attack “Islamic terrorism” and forced the country to beef up security. The Vigipirate anti-terror alert was raised to the highest level and up to 7,000 soldiers from Operation Sentinelle were mobilized across France.
