Ukrainian forces repelled dozens of attacks in the areas of Kupiansk (northeast), Avdiva and Marinka (east) in the last hours, with casualties on the Russian side, the Ukrainian General Staff reported this Friday.
“The enemy continues to try to surround Avdivka, actively using aviation, but Ukrainian soldiers maintain their positions, inflicting heavy casualties on the occupiers,” the Ukrainian army stated in a report cited by the Spanish agency EFE.
South of Bakhmut, where the Russians are trying to recapture positions taken by Ukraine in September in the villages of Klishchivka and Andrivka, fighting also continues, according to the Ukrainian General Staff.
According to the report, Ukrainian forces repelled 10 Russian attacks on Thursday.
In the city of Marinka, also on the eastern front, the Ukrainian army thwarted 18 Russian attacks on Thursday.
Ukraine continues the offensive in the Zaporizhzhia province, where kyiv has not made substantial progress in recent weeks.

The war was triggered by the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in June after receiving new weapons from its Western allies, but has admitted modest progress.
