“Go south”: this is the “urgent” request of the Israeli army to the inhabitants of the northern and central Gaza Strip. In a message shared on social media this Saturday, Israel states that “the door is closing” and that the war against Hamas “has entered a new phase.”
“For your immediate safety, we ask all inhabitants of the north and center to go south,” asks the spokesman for the Israeli Armed Forces, Daniel Hagari, in a video published on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

The Armed Forces “will neutralize the Hamas threat in a surgical and intense manner,” reports Daniel Hagari, stressing that the evacuation is “temporary.”
“The window of opportunity they have to leave is closing,” he reiterates.
Moments later, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, quoted by the AFP news agency, stated that the war against the Hamas group “has entered a new phase” with the intense bombings in the Gaza Strip since Friday evening.
