Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Sunday that Israeli troops who entered the Gaza Strip by land had been forced to withdraw.
“The Zionists attacked Gaza yesterday in an unprecedented large-scale operation by air, sea and land, but despite economic support and weapons from the United States and several European countries, they were forced to withdraw,” Raisi said in an interview with Al Jazeera.
The Iranian head of state stressed that this is Israel’s “second failure” after “Operation Al Aqsa Flood”, in which Hamas militiamen attacked Israeli territory on October 7, killing more than 1,400 people.
“This second failure is much bigger and heavier than the first, because in the first there was a surprise factor, but in the second they attacked with an army armed to the teeth, but the resistance forced them to withdraw. This is another colossal failure. victory of the Palestinian nation”, noticed.
Israel, for its part, has not made any reference to the withdrawal of its forces, having confirmed a few hours ago that it is maintaining its presence in the north of the Palestinian enclave following a new expansion of the ground operation.
Raisi, however, reiterated the “support and defense of the Palestinian resistance.”
“Not only we, but all countries in the Islamic world and all independent countries in the world that are not under American control, must support and defend the Palestinian resistance movement,” he stressed.
Regarding US warnings that Iran or Hezbollah should not intervene in the conflict, Raisi recalled that “it is curious that the Americans tell others not to intervene, while giving them all the weapons, materials and facilities necessary for the Zionists for their acts of criminals in Gaza, in front of the whole world.”
