Pope Francis canceled his trip to Dubai, where he was due to participate in the United Nations-organized COP28 climate summit, on the advice of doctors, the Vatican said on Tuesday.
“Although the Holy Father’s general clinical condition has improved in terms of his flu-like condition and inflammation of the respiratory tract, doctors have asked the Pope not to go ahead with the planned trip to Dubai in the coming days,” the Pope’s spokesman said . The pope “accepted the doctors’ request with great regret, so the trip was canceled,” the note also said.

The United Nations Summit on Climate Change starts on Thursday (November 30) and runs until December 12 in Expo City, Dubai.
