British Prime Minister Liz Truss has sacked her Finance Minister, Kwasi Kwarteng, she has confirmed, following the news broadcast by the BBC public broadcaster.
“He asked me to leave. I accepted”, reads the statement, in the form of a letter addressed to Liz Truss, published on the social network Twitter.

Kwarteng cut short a visit to the United States and returned to London on Friday, where the British government has been under pressure to change the controversial growth plan presented on September 23.
The news of the imminent resignation had already been advanced by other means.
Truss’s office announced a news conference around 2 p.m., without saying why.
