New German package of 65,000 million euros to help families and companies

The German Government presented this Sunday a new package of aid to families and companies, given the increase in the cost of living and energy, in the global value of 65,000 million euros.

The parties that make up the coalition government in Germany reached an agreement this Sunday on this third support package, presented during a joint press conference by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the leaders of the coalition parties, Saskia Esken, for the Social Democrats Omid Nouripour for the Greens and Finance Minister Christian Lindner for the Liberals.

The first two packages, for a total of 30,000 million euros, included, among other benefits for citizens, a public transport voucher with tickets at 9 euros per month that allow travel throughout Germany and a discount on fuel, limited to three months ending in August.

Among the measures applied are also the elimination of the surcharge on the price of electricity intended to finance renewable energy and a single bonus of 100 euros per child and energy up to 300 euros.
