After months of debate, The bill restricting the rights of immigrants was passed. during the night of this Tuesday in the French Parliament, after having been validated by a Joint Joint Commission composed of seven deputies and seven senators.
The parliamentary majority approved this bill with the support of the right. There were 349 votes in favor and 186 votes against.

The new immigration law reduces access to health care for immigrantsfacilitates family reunification and obtain French nationality. Living in an illegal residence becomes a crime in the eyes of the lawwhich now allows immediate expulsions of immigrants.
The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, announced that “next year” there will be “10,000 more regularizations” of undocumented immigrants. Laure Lavalette, deputy of the National Union, considers that The passage of this bill is a victory for the far right.: “The ideological victory of this text is evidently a victory for my political family. It is seeing a text that highlights national prioritywhich is a cornerstone of the National Union”.

Six ministers threatened to resign if the law went ahead: shortly after the decision, Aurélien Rousseau, Minister of Health, announced his departure from the government.
