Two employees were killed in a shooting inside a hospital in Dallas, Texas, and the gunman fired shots and was taken into custody by police, authorities said.

The shooting took place around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (5:00 p.m. in Lisbon) inside the Methodist Health System, according to hospital spokesman Ryan Owens.

A police officer “arrived at the scene, confronted the suspect and shot him, wounding him,” Owens said in a statement in which the hospital said he was still mourning the deaths.

The suspect was taken to another hospital in police custody, Ryan Owens said, without disclosing the severity of the injuries.
